What is reverse osmosis water filtration system for home?
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water treatment process that reduces contaminants from water by using pressure to force water molecules through a semipermeable membrane. During this process, the contaminants are basically filtered out and flushed away, leaving clean, delicious drinking water.
How does a reverse osmosis water purifier work?
Reverse Osmosis water purification process is a simple water filtration process. It is accomplished by water pressure pushing water through a semipermeable membrane to remove impurities from water. This is a process in which dissolved inorganic solids are removed from a water.
What does reverse osmosis water filtration system remove?
A reverse osmosis water filtration system is known to eliminate 99% of contaminants found in water. These include: • Chlorine and fluorine • Lead, arsenic, chromium, radium, barium, cadmium • Salts – Nitrates, sulphates, and others • Sediments, dirt, and rust • Heavy metals • Parasites • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) • Herbicides and pesticides • Total dissolved solids(TDS)
Is this reverse osmosis water filter system unit suitable for well water?
We do not recommend using well water as source for our RO systems.
The reasons are as follows:
1. Large particles.
Compared to municipal tap water, the well water is rich of large particles, which will clog the filters easily, and shorten their lifetime significantly. Please note that the filters will still need to be replaced more frequently, even if you have added a pre-filtration system.
2. Composition
The well water has very complicated compostion, and some of them (apart from the large particles) can cause the filter or internal valve to be clogged and prevent the RO system from normal performance.
3. Water pressure
The well water may not provide the feed water pressure that the RO system requires (14.5 psi min.). Furthermore, the water pressure will be even lower after passing through pre-filtration systems.

What does Pure to Drain Rate mean?
The reverse osmosis water filter relies on a semi-permeable membrane to filter out impurities from drinking water. When the tap water is compressed through the RO membrane, it produced pure water and waste water. The ratio of pure water to waste water is called wastewater ratio. 1:1 wastewater ratio means 1 gallon water is wasted per 1 gallon purified, and 2:1 wastewater ratio means 1 gallon water is wasted per 2 gallon purified. The higher the wastewater ratio is, the less waster water produced during the filtration process. During the use of RO water filter, the actual ratio might be lower than the labeled, depending on many factors such as water quality, pH, pressure and temperature.
What is water pressure tank?
The water pressure tank has a design that fits beneath a sink, and the hydropneumatic pressure tank also fits in line with a reverse osmosis system. Additionally, the reverse osmosis tank is for storage; it collects water that the reverse osmosis membrane gradually purifies. Because the reverse osmosis filtration process is slow, water pushes through the semipermeable membrane, a drop at a time. Nevertheless, water accumulates in the tank, allowing you to get immediate access to plenty of water whenever you pour yourself a glass.
How to install the reverse osmosis tank?
The manual contains straightforward instructions on the reverse osmosis tank installation. Out of the box, the tank has a ¼” quick-connect design. You can complete the installation by cutting off the RO system’s water outlet tubing and inserting both ends of the tubing into the tank.
What size small water tank do I need?
This small water tank has dimensions of 4.1×4.1×7.3 inches.
How many gallons is a RO tank?
This tank’s volume is 0.26 gallons.
Can I connect tankless reverse osmosis system to refrigerator/icemaker?
Yes. The under-counter reverse osmosis system is plumbed to an independent faucet, drain, and an incoming cold water line. It would be best to consider pressure when connecting your RO system to your refrigerator because the RO unit’s pressure is about two-thirds of the incoming line pressure.
Fortunately, the pressure tank eliminates problems with water pulse because of inconsistent pressure; This comes in handy when you’re using the refrigerator with other appliances over a long distance, which may cause a delay in filtered water production.
