Generally, the reason for having a bad taste in your filtered water is coming from not having enough priming filters. The bad taste is from process dust that may have remained from the initial priming process. Please try priming your filters a couple of more times throughout.

The problem is typically due to high water tension. High water tension prevents air from being purged from the micropores of the new purification elements.
How long do PF-2® white purification elements water filters last?
Each set of two PF-2® filters should be replaced after approx. 1,000 gallons. If you have two filters and you used 5 gallons of water per day, then PF-2® filters should be replaced after 200 days (about every 6 months).
